Easy Mocktail Recipes: 10 Simple Drinks You Can Make at Home

Most "easy mocktail" recipes online aren't actually easy. They call for muddling tools you don't own, syrups you can't find at the supermarket, and a Saturday afternoon free to fuss over a single glass.

We think mocktails should be simpler than that. Whether it's a Wednesday dinner that needs lifting from plain water, or friends arriving in an hour with a half-empty fridge, the answer should take minutes, not effort.

Ten easy mocktails. A SodaStream® on the counter. A few staples in the cupboard. Every recipe goes from craving to glass in under five minutes.

Classic and Citrus-Based Easy Mocktails

These three mocktail recipes are the workhorses. Crowd-pleasing, low effort, and almost impossible to mess up.

1. Virgin Mojito

The crowd-pleaser. Bright, herby, and forgiving of guesswork.

You'll need: 6 to 8 fresh mint leaves, half a lime, 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or syrup, ice, and fresh sparkling water from your SodaStream®.

Muddle the mint and lime in a tall glass. Add sugar to taste, fill with ice, top with sparkling water, and stir. Garnish with a mint sprig if you have one going spare.

2. Paloma Mocktail

Tangy, slightly bitter, and the right answer for cutting through a heavy meal.

You'll need: half a cup of pink grapefruit juice, a squeeze of lime, a pinch of salt, ice, and sparkling water.

Pour the juice and lime into a glass, stir in the salt, fill with ice, and top with sparkling water. Best served chilled, with a grapefruit wedge on the rim.

3. Lemon Mint Spritzer

The hot-weather workhorse. Light, hydrating, and as sweet as you decide.

You'll need: juice of half a lemon, a few mint leaves, 1 teaspoon of SodaStream Classic Lemonade Drink Mix or honey or sugar (optional), ice, and sparkling water.

Combine the lemon juice and mint, add sweetener if you like, then top with ice and sparkling water. Adjust the sweetness as you go.

Fruity Easy Mocktail Recipes

On the contrary, these four mocktail recipes lean fruit-forward. Great for kids, weekends, and anyone who likes a more colourful glass.

1. Berry Fizz

Colourful, vitamin-rich, and as easy as dropping fruit in a glass.

You'll need: a small handful of fresh or frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, or strawberries), a squeeze of lemon, ice, and sparkling water.

Drop the berries straight into a glass, add a quick squeeze of lemon, fill with ice, and top with sparkling water. Frozen berries double as ice cubes.

2. Watermelon Cooler

The summer drink that tastes like dessert. Light, sweet, refreshingly hydrating.

You'll need: half a cup of fresh watermelon juice (or blended watermelon, strained), a squeeze of lime, ice, and sparkling water.

Pour the watermelon juice into a glass, add lime and ice, then top with sparkling water. Best enjoyed on a hot afternoon, with a slice of watermelon on the rim.

3. Lychee Sparkler

The slightly more grown-up option. Floral, fragrant, and a hit at gatherings.

You'll need: 3 to 4 canned lychees with a splash of their syrup, a squeeze of lime, ice, and sparkling water.

Drop the lychees and syrup into a glass, add lime, fill with ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with a lychee skewer or a few mint leaves.

4. Mango Cooler

Tropical, family-friendly, and a fizzy upgrade on plain mango juice.

You'll need: half a cup of SodaStream Orange Mango Drink Mix or mango juice or purée, a squeeze of lime, ice, and sparkling water.

Combine the mango and lime in a glass, add ice, and top with sparkling water. Crank the carbonation up for a sharper fizz, or keep it gentle for the kids.

Easy Mocktails That Feel a Bit More Special

These three mocktail recipes take it up a notch. Fresh herbs, sharper flavours, and the kind of glass that looks the part when guests arrive.

1. Cucumber Lime Mocktail

Crisp, clean, and the kind of drink that actually quenches thirst.

You'll need: 4 to 5 thin cucumber slices, juice of half a lime or a capful of SodaStream Lemon Lime Drink Mix, a pinch of salt, ice, and sparkling water.

Lightly muddle the cucumber in a glass, add lime juice and salt, fill with ice, and top with sparkling water. A solid choice when guests want something low-key and refreshing.

2. Strawberry Basil Spritz

The unexpected pairing that works. Sweet strawberry, peppery basil, dry sparkle.

You'll need: 3 to 4 fresh strawberries, 2 to 3 basil leaves, 1 teaspoon honey or syrup (optional), ice, and sparkling water.

Muddle the strawberries and basil in a glass, add sweetener if you like, then top with ice and sparkling water. A go-to when you want one drink to look like effort.

3. Peach Iced Tea Mocktail

Café-style, at home, in three minutes flat.

You'll need: half a cup of cold black tea, 2 tablespoons peach juice or peach purée, a squeeze of lemon, ice, and sparkling water.

Combine the tea, peach, and lemon in a glass, fill with ice, and top with sparkling water. Best served over plenty of ice on a long afternoon.
